Ladies And Gentleman. I Present To You, The Statue Of Liberty! Odaiba, Tokyo, Japan
“The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.” -Dolly Parton . I have this thing that happens often to me. I see a forecast and then witness the weather actually follow the forecast. The thing about that is I don't always agree with the forecast so I stick my tongue out at my phone and make a wish for the weather to change. It comes true somewhat regularly when I do. It was supposed to be raining here in Dornbirn, Austria through Monday. I leave Saturday for Athens and really needed to see the majestic mountains again so today when I was riding to the theater I asked for the sun to come out. Within three minutes the sky was half blue. I kid you not! I am not sure I had anything to do with it and I really don't care so long as it happened. ;) After I got done with work it was time to head downtown to see what architectural treasures I could find. A storm rolled back in right as I was photographing one of the most breathtaking and spooky houses I have ever seen (while being told by a neighbor of this house that I am not allowed to photograph the property) and it started raining on me. I wasn't sure I got the photo I wanted and had no interested in dealing with the police that were being threatened upon me (although I have a feeling I am allowed to photograph a house from the sidewalk). So I started making my way back down the hill to find some food. Halfway down I turn around to see if there was a nice street shot behind me and I found this. Mind officially blown. There were almost three rainbows here and they lasted for about 15 minutes which I scurried about looking for the perfect shot still intensely lost in the sky happily proving Johann Wolfgang von Goethe wrong. It turns out the best shot I got was the one I captured when I first saw it. So now I will share it with you wonderful people! I hope you find some magic in your day as well! :) Me, I need to go try and sleep through my insane jetlag! Dedicated to my friend and brother Charlie. May peace be with you.
